Wallpaper Submission Instructions
Use the form below to upload your wallpaper submission. If you are not already logged in, you must do so before continuing.
InterfaceLIFT accepts both fullscreen (4:3) and widescreen (16:10) formated desktop pictures. When possible, please submit both aspect ratios for each submission. We are less likely to feature a wallpaper that was provided in only one format. Exceptions are made in cases were cropping the image would adversely affect the composition of the work.
When uploading your image(s), please send us the highest resolution version of each aspect ratio that you have. Our editors will generate the non-standard sizes, lower resolution files, and preview graphic for you. The minimum submission resolutions are 1920x1200 (widescreen) and 1920x1440 (fullscreen). 2560x1600 and higher are recommended when available! Each file may be up to 5.0 MB in size. Please do not apply more JPEG compression than necessary to fit under this cap. Submissions with visible compression artifacts will be rejected.
While we cannot guarantee your artwork will be featured on InterfaceLIFT, we can give you some guidance as to what to avoid.
Submissions are commonly rejected for the following reasons:
- Excessive noise or grain in the image (except when intended for artistic effect).
- Visible JPEG artifacts resulting from saving the file with too much compression.
- A copyright notice or signature that significantly detracts from quality of the image.
- Poor composition or framing of the subject within the image.
- Stretching an image to a different aspect ratio or upscaling a low resolution image to meet the minimum resolution requirements.
- Overuse of filters or other image manipulations in a graphics application.
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted or trademarked material.
- Images of non-consenting individuals.
- Subject matter not suitable for a general audience.
We highly recommend that you do not make significant adjustments to your images in a graphics application such as Adobe Photoshop other than cropping to one of the accepted aspect ratios (4:3 or 16:10) unless you are skilled at it. Unfortunately, many otherwise strong submissions must be rejected due to over processing. When in doubt, submit the image as-is and we will make any necessary adjustments brightness/contrast, sharpness, hue/saturation, etc. If you'd prefer we do not alter your submission in any way, let us know and we won't.
After uploading your submission, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not, we did not receive your submission. Please try again, or contact our webmaster through the 'contact' link at the bottom of the page.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we regret that we are unable to respond individually to each one. However, we do try to respond to your questions when possible. If you do not see your submission posted within 2 weeks, feel free to ask us why. But please keep in mind that only a very small fraction of submissions are chosen to be featured on the site. Additionally, we keep each submission on file and periodically reconsider them for posting. If your first few submissions are not accepted, please do not be discouraged. It doesn't mean your next one won't be!
Note: Each submission must be given a unique title or else your previous uploads will be overwritten. Your images must be in JPEG format and less than 5.0 MB each. Please include a detailed description of your wallpaper (2-8 sentences) whenever possible.
