Reflected Beauty
By Chris Gin
July 8th, 2009
This was taken at Kelland Ponds, a small lake near Twizel, New Zealand. I found a spot I was happy with and set up my tripod, waiting for the right light. As the sun was setting, it would break through the clouds every now and again and light up the trees, showing off their incredible autumn colours.

This is excellent as always. The colors do an wonderful job of blurring the line between reflection and sky. Having opened the original image and looked at it with the twigs in the foreground not in the window I have to say I think it looks better slightly cropped. I know everyone likes to have foreground composition, but I feel like they detract from this image. I'm not sure if it's the subject matter for the foreground, or the fact that the image looks more infinite without them, whatever it is, that's my one small beef with this superb image.

Fantastic shot Chris. I'm trying to recall if i've passed by this lake during my countless times heading down to Twizel for rowing... great capture none the less, keep it up!

So smooth!
This picture can even be viewed upside down!! - just ignore those twigs sticking out of water. Otherwise it pretty symmetrical!
