Stream Under The Bridge

June 24th, 2009

While bicycling in Ohiopyle State Park, Pennsylvania, I came across this stream flowing underneath the bike path. I thought it would be cool to try a long exposure shot. This is my first long exposure with water. It was very tricky to get because I bought an $18 compact tripod to throw in my backpack while biking. The thing almost had my Nikon in the stream.

Very nice pic..i already said this silky effect of water on long exposure is one of my favourites..and this kind of green colour is very particular. If you have other photos of this place i'd like to see them!

Awesome pic! I love how the water looks, and the background looks like it's painted

Is this a real photo? It really looks like a computer generated one! Hmm..

its not "100% artificial" it just some time lapse thing that they do to make it look better. if it was artificial it would make one heck of a good job.

Thanks all! Glad you guys are enjoying the photo! No it is not artificial lol. It is an HDR image. I also did a 4 second exposure for the water to look "silky."

I'd like to see a pic with sharp water once in a while again (no HDR). :/

I can vouch for the authenticity of the photo. I was there and took the same shot (but it didn't turn out as well!). Nice job!

Too much HDR, the trees in the background no longer look natural and the water seems a bit off. Other than that it's interesting, would like to see it without so much processing.

Why people likes those smoothings? It's a really good photo. But it would be much better without long-time effect. Much better. This kind of effect is passed out in photo. all recpect anyway, don't judge me, It's just my opinion.

Absolutely love it. The location is very unique. Something a bit different for a change.

I don't really know anything, but if this is long exposure how is the water in the front on the ledge clear and still and sharp but the rest is not? And interesting shot.
