Awesome wall, Brandon; using it now. Gives me kind of a creepy zombie-flick feel. Thanks!

This would have been great for Halloween! Maybe add a little extra grain to give it that over-the-top zombie feeling?

This is a little too creepy for a wallpaper...but it would make a good stock photo, especially if you kept the eyes normal. Technique is really good though, keep up the good photography.

Interesting... I wouldn't use it for a wall paper but it's an interesting photo. I think the idea to add some grain is a great idea.

Not remotely interesting, artistic, or even particularly well executed. Why should anyone want a desktop with something so ugly on it?

Don't worry about it, man. IFL is full of elitist assholes who won't be happy until you submit the same, tired old sunset like everybody else. Personally, I'm extremely happy to see a little diversity in IFL's daily offerings, and saddened that this group of rumpjockeys have managed to stick a pin in your birthday balloon.

If you don't like the company, Kierke, or the 'tired old sunsets' you could hang out somewhere else. Possibly some literary circle. You obviously have a fabulously rich vocabulary.

"Tired old sunsets?" Well, I prefer beauty as opposed to something quite disturbing, like this picture is. Call me a crazy "rumpjockey" (whatever that is. I have to look that one up.)

Also, something can "be done very well", but that doesn't mean the thing being done is a good thing to do.

"I better get working on some nature backgrounds or something so I don't get so hated on here..." It's not such a bad photo if you left the irises where they're supposed to be. People are creeped out because of the missing eyes.

tasteless, disgusting, and offensive. the maker of this image has managed to bring about the worst on IFL such that there is no equal. this image sure is not that 'tired old sunset', but trust me, an image of that 'tired old sunset' would look godly compared to this. i am not an elitist, but if you call those of us who can tell a good picture from a bad one, then i guess i am guilty. my suggestion is that the maker of this image seems to have a lot of talent, try posting on deviantart.com and you might even find artists who share your vision = ) on IFL your picture just sticks out like a sore thumb... not in a good way.

I hate when people defend crap solely because it's unique by default. I know the submitter fancies himself a rebel, but in reality he's closer to a hack. Look, I get tired of sunsets too. I'd get tired of lobster if I had to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day. But I wouldn't turn to eating dirt just for the sake of changing pace.

It's nice to see something different at IFL! I'm certain this little splash of individuality won't disturb you too much. Goodness! It looks great on my Ipod Touch... By the way I like a nice sunset as well-art is art.

brizkit - Honestly, I have just been lurking on this site for a while, and I made this background and I thought, "Hey, maybe someone else would enjoy this." because I know that I like creepy stuff. Let me assure you that being a "rebel" on a website was not my intention. I think it's solely a case of me sharing something that I enjoy. To each his own.

All you people need to chill. If IFL put it up it meets their standards. I think the fact that it has got so many responses proves (good or bad) that it has presence. I think its okay better than some worse than others. Everybody has their own style. If you like it or not just chill. I see nothing tasteless, disgusting, or offensive about it. How you see that I'll never know. Just chill people.

it's like applying the obscenity rule for pornography, you know it's obscene when you see it, and same goes for this disgusting picture = )and also, we are chill, and we are also mad at IFL's decision of admitting this picture, because it's so much lower in artistic quality and value than pretty much the rest of the pictures admitted on this site. it's like... admitting a lump of coal at a gem exhibition, i mean... com'on IFL.

Tasteless: not having or exhibiting good taste Disgusting: causing marked aversion aroused by something highly distasteful Offensive: causing displeasure or resentment all the definition are from merriam webster online, so tell me that's not how people feel after seeing this picture = )

@ Bin Mei Thanks for the definitions and to answer you question no I don't feel that at all. Just because you don't like it does not mean that others will not. I like the pic. Its not my favorite but it speaks on a different level to me. I'm sure you will try to blast me for this but whatever. Its not up to you what IFL posts on the site and I'm glad because I believe this pic to be worthy. Its not your site as you state in one of your comments. He has every right to submit pics to this site if you don't like it don't look!!!

@ Reddog i was going to make some comparison between two girls one cup and this pic and how both failed to achieve the standard and the decency of the artistic medium of which they are posted on, but i am too lazy, and i am glad to see that ifl crew corrected themselves and haven't admitted anymore pictures of this kind... for now anyways. like i said, this artist seems to have a lot of talent with photoshop and use of lighting, should post on deviantart and he might even get a bigger following = )

Back @ Bin Mei: Not a fan of the video (2 G 1 Cup) but how did it fail to achieve the standard and decency of the artistic medium it is posted on? What medium? The internet? I believe it was intented to shock and gross you out. I don't believe that the submitters intention here. He likes the dark stuff and this is his statement. Also I don't believe IFL corrected themselves. How do you come to that conclusion? Is it because there hasn't been another pic of a doc with white eyes? Thats a reach. I'm done with this but next time try some CC instead of insulting another persons pic. Peace

wow I'm a lurker but I decided to make an account after reading the comments on here. First of all the wallpaper is awesome, it has a grotesque feel to it not unlike gothic architecture. Its creepy but not too creepy. Second, of all the comments on here Bin Mei offended me the most. Instead of offering constructive criticism or just voicing distaste, his comments reek of narrow minded elitism (not the good kind). IFL choose to post this picture because they saw some merit to it. I mean who the hell does this guy think he is, frankly I'd take Brandon's single submission over any of his selections any day. And yea dude if you're scared that IFL will post more stuff like this, I hope they really do. I'm sure they won't mind not having your pompous arse around. Stolz kommt, bevor ein Rueckgan.

@mcqdeltat I disagree, I think although Bin's attempt to draw a connection between 2g1c is a little far fetched with regards to this particular picture, I do give some merit to what he is trying to establish; that this picture is, indeed, a deviation from the "traditional sense" of the artistic value that IFL has long been trying to establish. I don't think you should go as far to call Bin Mei a narrow minded elitist, because, afterall, he represents the view of the artists who enjoys the 'traditional sense', and as such it's not hard to see how a zombie doc stands out like a sore thumb among other photographic sceneries. And mind you, Bin Mei is not the only artist who dislikes this picture, he is simply the most outspoken. Second, art is not simply a piece of imagery but a feeling and reaction. As such feelings and reactions can be both enjoyment and repulsion right? Or do you align yourself more along the line of "you can only say good things about my art or die"? I mean, that's cool too... kinda. Third, triple post?
