Hey, this is a nice picture and all, but its just another sunset. There is nothing spectacular about it. The trees lack detail and the overall picture just looks boring.

"Boo hoo another sunset" These are easy enough to scroll past. This anti-sunset movement is a little trite. It's actually a sunrise. Better? :P

The thumbnail made me think it was made in Vue 6 like a couple others I've seen here.

Although the picture is "Just another sunset" according to deuceswild09, Aletheios was impressed by the view, took the shots, manipulated them and submitted the final to IFL because, in his mind, he thought it good enough to submit.

I guess IFL also thought it worthy enough to post so, deuceswild09, who are you to complain? Perhaps you think you are the major art critic for the New York Times.

Love this, it has a very magical and dreamy feeling. How can anyone say "just another sunset"? I've seen lots of sunsets but have not seen this one before. And for the non-photographers out there, it really isn't just a case of seeing a sunset and clicking the shutter.

I like the mystical aura that surrounds this picture, really nice, it misses a unicorn :-)

to follow up on my not so popular post about it being just another sunset, this picture lacks an appealing composition. The tree is not in an attractive place and the sunset, or sunrise, whatever it is, doesn't look cg or real. It is just an awkward amateur photo.

Guys, you can't call the anti-sunset movement "trite" when the sunset is the most trite thing on this site. I know it drives you photogs nuts when we say it, but you ARE working in a very narrow little macro world whether you like it or not. It's like you're all playing the same song with a slightly different guitar pedal every time. Of all the wonderful things to shoot on planet Earth, you guys almost ALWAYS use the same formula: a sunset/rise, with a foreground of trees or mountains, and maybe some water and rocks. Whether or not you think there many wonderful little subtle differences that "nobody else gets", you are functioning on a small SLICE of the spectrum of possible subjects. Only gearheads could care about your lens choice or mastery of depth of field when the composition is CLICHED. This is a wallpaper site first and foremost... camera forum second. Think outside the box and give us some variety OTHER than "overcast, sunny, stormy." Sheesh!

amprenta, I couldn't have said it better. It does have a mystical quality about it. It also conveys the feeling that something may happen here after the sun sets. Very few still shots have a sense of foreshadowing and this one definitely does! I love it.

But does almost every picture have to be HDR? Seems like nobody likes taking real pictures without having 6 exposures merged into one making it look unreal like.

Yeah, I instantly wallpapered this one! I love it, and it's pictures that are kinda like this one that make me want to quit drumming (been at it for about 15 years) and take up photography. To deuceswild09, if you consider this to be an amateur photo, then let's see you do better. If you can't, then don't waste your time making such comments; there's just no point. Yes, it's another sunrise/sunset shot, but it's a high-quality, high-res photo that was done very well. I, for one, appreciate the work Aletheios has clearly put into this and I am really glad to have made this my 120th wallpaper in Wallpaper Master. I'm looking forward to it coming around in the rotation.

This is a fantastic wallpaper!! Something just hit me about when when I first saw the full-size. Exactly what good photography should be about. Great job!
